We the undersigned, support Dalila Touat, representative of Mostaganem's unemployed, arrested on March 19 for distributing leaflets calling for a peaceful rally. Her arrest and the charges against her are unacceptable violations of human rights and freedom of expression, contrary to our Algerian constitution, which guarantees to every citizen all peaceful and legal means to express political opinion and social concerns.

We regard the Algerian government responsible for this error and demand the release of Dalila Touat and further that all charges against her be dropped immediately.
